Free Drop-in Meditation Sessions

  • Mindful USC Drop-In Meditation

    WEDNESDAYS 12:30-1 PT

    On Zoom

    In this 30 minute drop-in session, we explore principles and practices of mindfulness meditation from a multiplicity of perspectives, drawing inspiration and insight from poetry, Buddhist teachings, modern neuroscience, secular mindfulness, indigenous wisdom, the natural world, popular culture, mysticism, and the lived experience of one another. Each session includes reflections on a theme, 15 minutes of guided meditation, and conversation in a supportive community. Meditators at any level of practice are welcome.

  • UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) Drop-In Meditation at the Hammer Museum

    In this 30 minute drop-in session, we explore mindfulness meditation practices together in a hybrid global community of meditators who gather in person and on line at the beautiful Hammer Museum. Mindfulness is the moment-by-moment awareness of our inner and outer experiences with an attitude of openness, kindness, and acceptance. Research has shown that mindfulness practice can reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of health and wellbeing. Meditators at any level of practice are welcome.

    I teach mindfulness classes, workshops, and practice groups throughout the academic year at the University of Southern California (USC). These classes are open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of USC, as well as to members of the larger community.

Hammer Museum Mindfulness Meditation SessionS

In these 30-minute sessions recorded live at the Hammer Museum in LA, I share my personal reflections on a wide range of mindfulness topics and teachings and lead you through a related guided meditation.
